I have a very close family member in the hospital. I am so stressed that I am not even sure what I am going to type will be coherent or even spelled correctly. So I guess just bear with me.
The good thing that happend to day was that I got to spend the evening with my favorite three girls. They belong to my associate pastor. We try to get together at leaast every other month for a marathon of Barbie movies and chocolate. It was fun. We watched the new Barbie movie with the pink shoes.
I am home now. I am sad. I am probably hungry because I am trying to cope with my emotions. I ate a croissant but it just did not do it. So I did the following:
One box of Kraft mac and cheeese, noodles boiled till tender
one cup of frozen peas, thawed and heated in the microwave
3/4 cup of butter, in slices
1/4 cup of milk
Cheese packet from the Kraft mac and cheese box
I combined all of the above and then I ate it. The only thing missing was the Spam in cubes. I did not have any.
Sad + hungry equals gross. I dropped a macaroni noodle on my bed somewhere.
I don't care.
Oh well, when I feel better I will go back to making something real and good. Until then, oh well, icky food it is.

Probably not a good idea for me to be in the kitchen right now...

The "oops I have not been grocery shopping" dinner!
Well, obviously I did not make it to the grocery store yet. I knew that everyone would be hungry so I pulled out my old fashioned "I'm totally broke" menu from many years ago. We had Kraft boxed mac and cheese and then I chopped up and sauteed some hotdogs. Not the fanciest meal I have ever made by far but it was okay. We ate it and we are thankful for it. However make no mistake I will be heading to the grocery store tomorrow! HA HA HA I hope you enjoyed looking at our dinner!

Poor man's filet mignon
Tonight we had a throwback meal from when I was a child. We were pretty poor so instead of steak wrapped in bacon, my mother would wrap hotdogs in bacon and broil them in the oven.
My take on the hotdog of my past. I split the hotdogs almost all the through down the center and tuck strips of American cheese in it. Then I wrap in uncooked bacon and put them in the oven under the broiler set to high.
To complete my low budget meal, we made Kraft Mac & Cheese and some green beans. The bacon gives the hotdogs such yummy flavor! The flavor of my childhood! It was delish!!!

So dinner is finished. Here is what my plate looked like:
Even the bird liked dinner! Here is a picture of Louie eating his mac & cheese. For an Amazon parrot, he sure loves his pasta! I think he must be from Italy, not South America!!
Louie is a yellow-naped Amazon parrot and he is a real character!
That is a thin slice of meatloaf, homemade mac & cheese, green beans and a slice of tomato with some fresh mozzarella with some olive oil drizzled on it. It was tasty. The meatloaf was rather good although I prefer baking it with ketchup on it and I did not do it this time. It was a new recipe! One I made up out of my head (see previous post).Even the bird liked dinner! Here is a picture of Louie eating his mac & cheese. For an Amazon parrot, he sure loves his pasta!
